Yes it will play sims 3 and turbo cache is like having extra ram when needed, this speeds up the time it takes for the laptop to turn on and programs to load.

Question from John: Asked on 25/01/2009 There are 2 responses to the resolution of the screen.
1. it support 1920x1080
2. It supports 1366x768
Even the product technical spec say both
Which is the correct screen resolution ?

Which ACER models do support the full HD screen ?

I have delayed my purchase pending this clarification

Thanks

Answer from david s: Answered on 26/01/2009
All 8930's support 1920 x 1080 all the 16" models at the moment will only goto 1366 x 768. The only way to get a higher resolution would be to connect to a Full HD set via HDMI

Question from Graham: Asked on 19/01/2009 In response to the laptop not having an Optical Out port for sound, what capabilities does this laptop have for outputting 5.1 Surround Sound?
Thanks again!

Answer from David J: Answered on 19/01/2009
the sound card in the laptop can be tweaked in the settings to allow you to hook up a 5.1 system or you could use the HDMI to go into a home cinema system

Question from Graham: Asked on 19/01/2009 A couple of questions:
Does this laptop have an Optical Out port for Sound?
Does this laptop output 1080p to an external TV via HDMI?

Answer from David J: Answered on 19/01/2009
There is no optical output on the laptop but this should output via the HDMI to the maximum resolution of the TV

Question from Rob: Asked on 13/01/2009 Why are you insisting that this laptop has 1920*1080 resolution when it actually has 1366*768?

I recently bought one of these from another supplier and had to return it on these grounds. I have since spoken with several members of staff at Acer who have confirmed none of the Aspire 6930 series have a resolution higher than WXGA

Answer from david s: Answered on 14/01/2009
This model does only go upto the 1366 x 768 Resolution as it doesn't have the WUXGA screen

Question from NicPD: Asked on 16/10/2008 Hi,
I would just like to know whether this laptop can read Blue-Ray discs as well, or is it just a normal DVD writer, and could you also please tell me if the 250GB Hard drive is 5400rpm or 7200rpm?

Thank you.

Answer from Matt: Answered on 17/10/2008
It's just a DVD drive, not blue-ray, as for the hard drive I'm sot sure about that as the stock hasnt arrived yet and Acer dont specify in any of their documentation. I expect it will be 5400rpm as most laptop hard drives are.
