Company History

Argos was founded by Richard Tompkins in 1973 opening a store in Canterbury, launching with 1000 members of staff Argos took £1,000,00 during a week in November and in 1979 was sold for £32 million. Then in 1980 it launched it’s famous Elizabeth Duke jewellery counter and within 2 years it became the UK’s 4th biggest jewellery retailer. It continues to grow and modernise its stores and website and is now the UK’s largest general goods retailer with over 800 stores.

Delivery

For standard UK delivery, you can select the weekday of your choice and the cost will be £5.95, the same cost applies if you wish your order to be placed on a next day delivery service. A Saturday delivery will be £5.95 and will arrive between 7am-6pm. A free option is available using the Royal Mail service and will arrive within 4 working days. For large items the delivery cost is £8.95. Free delivery can sometimes be available using an Argos voucher code that are given out so keep an eye out for those before ordering.

Returns

If you are not satisfied with your goods you can return the items within 30 days providing the goods are unused, still in the original packaging and you have your proof of receipt. Refunds will be issued using the same method of the goods paid for and orders purchased using a voucher code will be refunded based on the promotional price.
