If you hadn't noticed it's September and that can only mean one thing in the fashion industry- Fashion week! First it was Milan and over the past week the UK's capital has had fashion fever as LFW took over. Thousands of designers from all over the world flocked to the city to show off their SS12 collections but it was British designers that stole the show this year, on home turf changing the British fashion reputation into something more than just wacky designs.
Designers such as Vivienne Westwood paved the way for British fashion giving it a quirky unique sense and along came Alexander McQueen with his skull trademark and one off show stopping pieces that added to the style but this year the Brits have given LFW a taste of what it can really do.
Designers such as Christopher Kane, Alice Temperley, Amanda Wakeley and Jonathan Saunders are emerging as hot UK talent and classics such as Burberry, Mulberry and Paul Smith are also still proving that British fashion is up there with the best.
Some amazing collections hit the catwalks across the week and we can see that shops will be awash with yet more prints and colours galore come SS12! Mulberry's yellows and soft pastel greens were not to be ignored (along with the catwalk dog!) and Jonathan Saunders gave us beautiful strong prints throughout.
